“But eagerly desire the greater gifts. And now I will show you the most excellent way. Paul writes to the conflicted church in Corinth that he “planted” several years earlier… If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal….
I read a chilling statistic the other day on cnn.com… “Imagine every man, woman and child leaving home in 29 states, mostly in the U.S. West and Midwest. That’s everyone west of Ohio and Kentucky and north of Texas, all the way to California. The 158 million people in those states make up the same…
In 2010, an 89-year-old art and antiquities collector by the name of Forrest Fenn hid a treasure chest filled with gold and diamonds. Why? To inspire people to explore nature and give hope to people affected by the recession of 2008. Clues leading to the treasure’s location were included in a poem published in Fenn’s…
Have you ever heard of the term “The Butterfly Effect?” The term was coined by Edward Lorenz a research meteorologist who designed a computer program to model the weather. I listened intently to the Bishop’s message. I felt like I register under the “old”
that has to change. I have to say that this was the bishop’s opinion of what he thinks the future holds that the neighborhood church might not be the future or maybe it could be one of the outreach pods. I have the thought that God might have a different plan. The church as we know it today has watered down and has taken a ” on the middle of the fence position”. There are things going on that the bible does not approve of…but it goes on. I have many things to think about on this one.
I think Bishop Miller isn’t saying this is the only way the church will operate in the future. He is saying this is one model that is already working within the city.
The Bishop’s message reminds me of way back when the Jews met in small groups (pods). Are we going backward?
