Advent Perspective Check: Joy


This Easter we may doubt that God is with us… our doubts or even our troubles might be affecting our faith right now. Jesus comes to us and rolls the stone away from our fear filled tombs. Christ is risen. He is risen indeed.
We begin this message with a secular Christmas song sung by Bruce Ewing and accompanied by Philip Fortenberry. This unconventional song for Christmas worship reflects the unconventional year we have all experienced.
We begin a new series entitled “Ordinary People, Extradordinary Moments.” God uses ordinary regular people and leads them to extraordinary moments. Today we begin with a regular guy named Zechariah who experienced real life disappointment yet God does something extraordinary.
It is the day of Pentecost (the birthday of the Church) but it is a day we lament the racism in our nation. How do these two go together? The Spirit gives us the strength to be advocates.
